  	Francis West is said to have come to Virgnia with Capt. Christopher Newport, 1608, but in the muster, Feb 1624/25, was given as coming in the Mary Ann Margett in 1610. He was elected to the Council in 1609 and appointed Governor of Virginia, 14 Nov 1627, serving two years and continuing a member of the Council until his death.
