- Beverly Walker reports that she has family letters indicating that Caleb Massey and wife Sally came to Philadelphia from time to time. In the early 1830s Leah Massey Young and her husband Michael Young came to Philadelphia. Leah's brother John Massey was also living here and working as a tobacconist. Michael W. Young was born Dec. 18, 1832. Michael Young Sr. died sometime before 1834. No death record has been found for him, however, in Philadelphia or on the Eastern Shore. She searched Philadelphia records for a while and found nothing relevant. By 1836 Leah Massey Young married again to a William Williams with whom she had four children. She died on Jan 5 1851 leaving her son Michael W. Young Jr. to care for his younger siblings. William Williams had died a year or so earlier.
