Her last will (recorded in James City County?) is referred to. Mrs. Seaverne (wife of John) was one of the legatees, receiving a satin petticoat and a silver-laced wastcoat.

  	Capt. William Roper, taken in open court, saith that John Severne died desire this deponent to bear witness that he was to give to his brother (meaning brother-in-law) John Pott one bed and one suit of clothes and all accounts to be cleared between them both which was in full satisfaction for his services and labor spent in the said Severnes employment. Whereas it appears to the court by the affidavit of Capt. William Roper, high sheriff for Northampton County, that the state of John Severne, Chirurgion, dec'd, do owe and stand indebted unto John Pott for his wages, one bed and suit of apparel. Whereas if also appears by sufficient testimony that the said estate does owe and stand indebted unto the said John Pott, 800 lbs tobacco for a steer killed at the funeral of the said Severne. It is therefore ordered by this Court that Humphrey Price, attorney of Capt. Bridges Freeman, Admr of the said estate, shall in the first place satisfy and pay the said bed and suit of apparel unto the said John Pott being his wages, and also 800 lbs tobacco for funeral charges.
