  Anecdote	A yDNA test revealed that the Genetic Distance between Stephen Wayne Turner (b 1945), a proven descendant of Samuel Turner I (c.1672-1760) of Worcester Co, MD and Brendan Turner (b.c. 1985), a proven descendant of Edward Turner I (c.1670-1729) of Northampton Co, VA is 6 at 37 markers and 7 at 67 markers. This is consistent with them being descended from a shared ancestor who lived in the late 16th century or early 17th century before coming to the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Their yDNA is shown as "salmon." (yDNA analysis provided by Nigel Bond, a member of this "salmon" yDNA group.)

He paid taxes on it through 1759 and in 1762 his heirs were paying taxes on it, who by then would have been his daughter Tamer/Turner and her husband Archibald Smith.

To daughter Turner Smith the tract called Turners Beginning containing 68 acres and the remainder of real and personal estate, which I have not already disposed of, provided that she and her husband Archibald Smith maintain my wife Sarah Turner during her natural life of widowhood.   	She was evidently the daughter of John Parker (1669-1731) and his wife Tabitha Truitt (1672-1745) who died after giving birth to a son John Turner, as both of her parents named a grandson John Turner in their wills. Since her father John left his grandson John Turner 150 aces and did not name a guardian or trustee to look after the land until he came of age, he was evidently of age in 1730. The only John Turner of this area to have been over age 21 in 1730 would have been the son of Samuel Turner I.
