  	The action brought by Henry Read against the executrix of Henry Read, Sr., was referred to the next court at the request of Mary Read.

  	John Read (guardian of Richard Read) brought action against Mary (executrix of Henry Read, deceased) and declared that in the will of William Stevens (deceased) Richard Read had been bequeathed the following items: a large iron pot, large iron kettle, a small iron pot, a brass kettle "cast and not hammered work", a bell metal mortar, brass pestle, feather bed and bedding, "that bed which was my mother's", a large chest, pair of iron dogs [andirons] at Capt. Foxcroft's, a chest, a gun, all his books of "chyrurgerie" [surgery], "one Negro woman with all her increase to be purchased out of ye tobacco due to him in Somerset County", his "small styllyards" and his pewter. The items were to be divided between Richard and Henry Read, Jr., and, within one month of Stevens' death, to be "marked with their several marks" along with part of the cattle and horses belonging to the estate. Henry Read had been executor of Stevens' will and was therefore possessed of the estate; now Mary Read (the executrix of the estate of her husband Henry Read) refused to deliver the legacies. The court considered the case and found that Henry Read had failed to turn in an inventory of Stevens' estate; he also failed to give the legacies to Richard Read. Likewise, Mary Read had not turned in an inventory of her husband's estate. Ordered that Mary deliver all the legacies that Stevens had given to Richard Read, with execution on the order respited till the next court at which time Mary was to give a true account of the Read estate under oath. Henry Read brought an action against Mary Read (executor of the estate of Henry Read, Sr.) declaring that Wm. Stevens (deceased) in his will left Henry a feather bed and bedding, brass mortar, his biggest iron pot, a small iron kettle "which had one leg put in", and an equal share of the cattle and horses that were to be divided among the children of Henry Read. As in the above complaint, Mary Read refused to deliver the legacies. The court heard all the pleas and ordered Mary to deliver all the legacies that Stevens had given to Henry Read, Jr. Execution on the order was delayed till the next court, when Mary was to give an account of the estate of Henry Read.
