- Charles Ratcliffe, planter, and his wife Elizabeth, recorded their 1300 acre patent granted to them by Sir William Berkley 27 October 1673: 600 acres lay onMesango Creek near Pocomoake; 700 acres lay on the head of Croocked Creek bounded by Jno. Renney. Except for 100 aces already sold to Edward Moore, the Ratcliffes sold the land to Robert Mason, carpenter. Signed 20 April 1674, Charles Rackliff and Elizabeth (X) Rackliff. Witnesses: Wm. (W) Tayler and John (IP) Prittiman, Jr.
Elizabeth, wife of Charles Rackliff, appointed John Stratton as her attorney in the sale of 1200 acres to Robert Mason. Signed 20 June 1674, Elizabeth (X) Rackliff. Witnesses: Wm. (WT) Tayler and Jno. (IP) Prittiman. Proved in open court 16 July 1674.

- Two brothers-in-law, Charles Rackliffe and Edward Wale, were granted 2,200 acres in South Point. They divided the land between them, and the Rackliffe portion played its role as a cradle of seaside civilization. For the next three centuries these lands remained with the original families, until 1939.

John Stringer, remainder to his heirs, with remainder to my son William Taylor, with remainder to my daughter Winefred, formerly wife of Peter Parker, deceased To son Elias 450 acres, being the South end of said 1050 acres between Geangoteage & Assawoman Branches. To daughter Winefred, formerly wife to Peter Parker, deceased To son William land on the seaboard side between Geangoteage & Assawoman Branches, containing 800 acres, being the northermost part of said 1050 acres, also 450 acres in the woods. To my 4 grandaughters Elizabeth, Mary, Rachell & Sarah Parker, daughters of Winefred Parker. To daughter Elizabeth Ratclif & her husband Charles Rattclife. To grandaughter Elizabeth Rattclife. To grandson William Taylor, Jr. Son Elias residual legatee & Ex'r. Witt: William Whittington, William Paine, John Elliot.
