John Kendall's land. This was the Watts land that Sarah inherited from her father, John Watts, in 1726, naming one of his children as Sarah Finney. In this deed William & Sarah Finney reserved a lifetime interest in the land. Evidently this son John died underage, for on 1 Feb 1764, William Finney Senr. & then wife Joannah deeded the same 1,000 acres on Wallops Island to William Finney the younger, son of William the Elder. Whitelaw assumed that William Finney & his wife Sarah had only one son named John (who died intestate in 1782, his estate being administered to his widow Anne) and assumed it was the younger John that got the land in 1734.
