- Deed of Gift
Written on October 27, 1698
Elizabeth Bundick of the County of Northampton, widow
“for the natural love and affection I bear to Richard Nottingham of the county aforesaid and my daughter Mary wife to the said Richard Nottingham …. and in consideration of their tender care and trouble they have had and may have with me in allowing me a competent maintenance in sickness and in health in their house, so long as it shall please God I shall enjoy this natural life, I do by these presents freely give unto the said Richard Nottingham and Mary his wife, all my whole estate freely and voluntarily in this county or elsewhere.”
Signed, Elizabeth (her mark) Bundick
Witnesses:
Joseph (his mark) Nottingham
Benjamin Nottingham
Recorded: October 28, 1698
Notes: (David Scott Jan 8, 2024) It is believed that this Elizabeth Bundick is the same Elizabeth who was the widow of Richard Clarke and had two daughters, Mary and Elizabeth. After Richard Clarke’s death, she married Teigue Harman. Elizabeth and Teigue did not have any surviving children and Teigue left his land (300 acres) to be divided between his stepdaughter Mary, wife of Richard Nottingham Jr and William Nottingham. Evidently, Elizabeth married Richard Bundick and is mentioned in his will in 1692.

- According to Whitelaw, this Mary is said to have been born a Bundick. She died before her husband Richard Nottingham Jr., who married a second wife Elizabeth some time before his death in 1729. However, upon the death of Mary, the title to the land Teigue Harmon left to his wife Elizabeth for her life and then the north half was to go to Mary, the wife of Richard Nottingham Jr., seems to have passed to her eldest son Joseph Nottingham, who died before his father. In 1721 Joseph (wife Bridget) left the house and the land as far as the road to a son Robert and the balance west of the house to his son Addison.
