(NOTE: Isaac's will stipulated that Richard his son, who is without heirs at the time of the writing of the will, can will the land left to him to those brothers and sisters he feels are deserving, or to their heirs if the parent is dead.)

- Richard Somers of Accomack County, Virginia sells to Betsy Hickman of Somerset County, Maryland, for $100, part of two tracts of land called "Long Town" and "Lot" or whatever name or names the same may be called, being part of the land given to me by my father Isaac Somers, deceased" in Somerset County and in Little Annamessex, beginning at the mouth of a gut issuing out of Appeshole Creek being a division between said land and Job Moore thence running westerly with said Moore land and Aaron Sterling's land and southerly with John Sterling's land so far as will contain one half of the said land in a long square line easterly down to the aforesaid creek." Witnesses: William Roach, Henry Ward.

- There are no Hickmans in Somerset County censuses for 1810-1830. In 1840 there are four Hickman households: George L. in Middle District and Isaac, Thomas, & Elizabeth in Lower District. The assumption made was that Elizabeth, Thomas, & Isaac are related and living near each other. Elizabeth shows as age 70 in both the 1850 & 1860 censuses. In 1860 two of Isaac's daughters are living with her.

Listed with her was John Hickman, a 30 year old farmer, born in MD; and Elizabeth Sterling, age 18, born in MD. She was listed near Josiah Sterling, a 38 year old mariner, the head of HH#476, with real estate valued at $1,000. Also near by was Isaac Hickman, a 45 year old oysterman, the head of HH#471, with real estate valued at $500. Listed with him was Ellen Hickman, age 44, who was Eleanor Tyler, who married Isaac Hickman 21 Dec 1835 in Somerset Co, MD.
