  	Will of Esther Dunton Will Book 25 Pages 453-454 In the name of God Amen. I Esther Dunton of Northampton County do make my last will & testament in manner following. In the first place I recommend my soul to Almighty God and my body to be decently buried hoping thro the mercy of Christ for a blessed resurrection. And for what worldly estate it hath pleased God to bestow on me, I dispose of it as follows. Item. I give to my daughter Esther Clegg twenty pounds during her life and after her death I give the said twenty pounds to be equally divided between her three children, Anne Smith, Peggy Jacob & Thomas Clegg Item. I give to my grandson Benjamin Dunton ten pounds and one pair of silver studs. Item. I give to my granddaughter Frances Goffigon ten pounds & one gold ring. Item. I give to my granddaughter Anne Smith five pounds. Item. I give to my daughter in law Mary Dickerson my black walnut desk. Item. I give all my wearing cloaths to be equally divided between my daughter Esther Clegg and Frances Goffigon. Item. I likewise give all the remainder of my estate be it of what kind so ever and not before given, to be equally divided between my grandchildren hereafter named, William, Thomas, Sally, Richard & John Waterfield to them and their heirs forever, my desire is that my grandchildren may have their parts of my estate when they attain to lawful age or marries. Also, my desire is that if any of my grandchildren should die before they attain to lawful age, then the deces’d parts to be divided amongst the surviving children. My desire is that all my grandchildren’s part of my estate may be put to interest by my executors till they attain to lawful age or marry. It is my desire that my grandson Benjamin Dunton should this my will fulfilled. Lastly, I do appoint Isaac Clegg and Levan Dunton executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and annulling all wills by me formerly made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this second day of March Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and seventy five.
