  	It was in this year that a patent was issued to one John Robins for 100 acres in this area. No further reference was found to a man of that name here, but this name may have been used by mistake for that of the John Robinson who thought he had bought 250 acres from Leonard Pettock. In 1654 Francis Yardley sold 300 acres to John Robinson, which perhaps perfected his title to his own patent and the land supposedly bought from Pettock. In 1662 John Robinson (wife Mary) left his home plantation to his son William, provided he would make over to two other unnamed sons a patent at Onancock. This latter was a part of tract A61 which had an involved early history, in which it will later be told how in 1681 a Richard Robinson tried unsuccessfully to prove his title to the part of it mentioned in the above will of John Robinson. Nothing more was noted concerning Wiliam Robinson or the other brother, but later on, Richard Robinson was the owner of this family home land.

  	On 11 Nov 1653 John Robinson Sr. gave by deed of gift to John Robinson Jr., to his (John Robinson Sr.'s) son William Robinson, and to the children of John Studson dec'd, viz: John Studson and Mary Studson. (Marshall's Note: John Studson the son of Mary the wife of Robert Warder is referred to and by 31 Dec 1650 John Robinson had married the wife of Robert Warder.)

But in case their mother remains a widow and finds this stock burdensome, she to sell at her disposing. My beloved wife Mary Robinson extrx. My friend Mr. John Custis to oversee.
