  	On 10 Nov 1663 in Acc Co George Johnson, planter, gave an iron-gray mare with a mare colt to Elizabeth, Mary and Ellinor Meridee, the 3 daughters of Phillip Meridee dec'd. Johnson's wife Ellinor Johnson, or someone she trusted, could dispose of the gift for the use of the 3 maids. Any other gift alleged to be given by George Johnson was declared void. Signed George Johnson. Witnesses: Chris Tompson and Janes Price. According to Whitelaw, the first wife of George Johnson is known to have been Ellinor, the widow of Phillip Meredith (N123), by whom she had 3 daughters: Elizabeth, Mary & Ellinor. In 1672 George & Ellinor Johnson deeded 100 acres of the Renny land to John Hamerin, who had married the daughter Elizabeth, but 2 years later the Hamerins deeded it back.
