  	These records also indicate that Ralph Justice had married in early 1675, at about 22 years of age, approximately two years before his indenture was completed. His wife was Mary Abbot, daughter of John Abbot. This is shown by a deed of a gift of 16 February 1681, from John Abbot to his grandson and namesake, John Justice, the son of Ralph and Mary (Acc Co Wills & Deeds 1676-1690, p. 302). The gift was two cows, and it is suggested it was made on the occasion of his grandson's birth. Evidently, Ralph Justice owned other cows by this time, for on 11 January 1680, his cattle mark was recorded, at the request of John Abbot (Acc Co Wills & Deeds 1676-1690, p. 244). John Abbot had been a headright for Mr. William Whittington on 2 October 1672, when he patented 5800 acres "all of Jengoteag Island" (Nugent, Vol. II, p. 115). Abbot died testate in 1695 and named a daughter as Mary Justice in his will (Acc Co Wills & c 1692-1715, p. 73). He owned land on Timber Creek (Whitelaw pp. 1118 and 1119), which became Back Creek, the northern branch of Hunting Creek, on which the town of Justisville is found today.
