  	On 10 May 1758, Elijah Brittingham patented "Rudder" for 7A in Pitts Creek. On 8 Feb 1767 Samuel Brittingham, son of Elijah sold to Esme Marshall. On 2 Apr 1771 Thomas Brittingham sold to Thomas Marshall 96A "Brittingham's Chance" and "Rudder."

  	"Brittingham's Chance," a resurvey of "Conveniency," was patented 9 Aug 1762 by Elijah Brittingham. His 1765 will left to wife Sarah and sons Samuel and Thomas. On 2 Apr 1771, Thomas Brittingham sold 96A to Thomas Marshall that he got from his father. On 25 Jun 1773, Thomas Brittingham, wife Mary, sold 3 1/2A to Joseph Houston. Thomas Marshall, wife Esther, sold 4 Aug 1786 to Zadock Wheeler.

  	In his will Elijah Brittingham gave to wife Sarah my plantation where I now live during her natural life or widowhood. After her death or remarriage to go to Samuel. To son Samuel all land on westermost side of main road from ferry to Seder Hall. To son Thomas all my land on easternmost side of main road from ferry to Sedar Hall. To daughters Mary, Ann, Sarah, Betty, Leah, and Joyce Purnell Brittingham and to sons Elijah and Susea Brittingham. Personalty to 7 children Sarah, Betty, Leah, Ann, Joyce, Susea and Elijah Brittingham - equal share of remaining two-thirds estate. Extr: Samuel Brittingham.
