  	It was on this date that Robert Rodgers and wife Martha sold 95 acres of land to Teackle Elliott, but the Rodgers retained a live right. It was bounded on the north by lands of Thomas Bagwell, on the northeast(?) by the heirs of James Wharton and on the southwest by the lands of John Kellam, and on the west and north by James Kellam. The deed was witnessed by George Taylor, Littleton Ward and William Poulson.

Elliott. To son William Elliott the plantation which I purchased of Charles Elliott, to be rented out for 5 years & money distributed as above. To son John Elliott the plantation which I purchased of Robert Rodgers, to be rented for 5 years, same as above. To wife Peggy Elliott the plantation where I now live for 8 years to bring up my son Littleton T. Elliott & then plantation to Littleton. My wife Peggy to have 1/3 right to my plantation during her life or widowhood & at her death or marriage then to my son Jesse, daughter Sally, son William, son John, daughter Caty, daughter Rachel B. & son Littleton. Snead, William Elliott, Littleton Elliott and Thomas P. Copes are the only heirs at law of Teackle Elliott, soldier in the Virginia Continental Line in the Rev. War.

  	According to Whitelaw, in 1754 Thomas Elliott, son of Robert, and his wife Elizabeth sold land to Joseph Jefferies. (NOTE: Whitelaw was evidently assuming that Robert Elliott had a son Thomas, as the deeds themselves do not show Thomas as a son of Robert. They only show Thomas with a wife Elizabeth, has she signs over her dower rights when Thomas sells the land. Robert Elliott did not name a son Thomas in his will, but instead named only "Wife Mary Elliott sole legatee & Exec.")
