In 1695 a patent was issued to Morris Dennis (Dennis Morris) as having been deserted by John Morris. In 1704 Dennis Morris sold to John Custis of Hungars.

  	On 4 Feb 1696/97 in Accomack Court Sheriff Col. John West informed the court that in 1696, Dennis Morris had concealed himself as a tithable. Morris pleaded that he had not been in the county at the time, being then living and paying taxes "in the government of Pennsylvania from April to July." Morris gave security and asked to prove his case at the next court, which was granted.
