  	In his will of 1718 Robert left his land to his son Ryley, but he had another son Thomas, who was the eldest son. In 1743, two years after Robert's estate was finally settled, the two sons united in a deed to William Andrews for the land "where Robert Slocumb the elder formerly lived." (Note: The fact that they referred to it as the land wher "Robert Slocomb the elder" lived implied that there was a younger Robert Slocomb, who was evidently not named in his father's will. This would have been the Robert and wife Rebecca Slocomb that sold part of this land to Charles Stockley before 1744.)

Watts, William Taylor, John Blake, Samuel Taylor and Lemuel Kendall: The line between Charles Taylor and John Blake beginning at a Black Walnut tree being a corner tree in the line betwee Lemuel Kendall and John Blake and from thence by a line of marked trees into Jengoteague Branch and from the said Walnut tree by a line of marked trees to a red oak that stands in the line of Robert Slocomb and from the Oak by a line of marked trees to Jengoteague Branch done in the presents of John Kendall, William Taylor, Charles Taylor, John Wallop, John Blake, Jonathan Owen, Wm. Watts and Lemuel Kendall. There was no line found between John Blake and Robert Slocomb from the water till we came to a red Oake that made the corner tree of Charles Taylor. The line between William Watts and Robert Slocomb beginning at a Hickory tree near the marsh at the Sea Side and then by a line of marked trees to a red Oake which tree is a corner tree between the said Watts, Samuel Taylor and Scarburgh Tunell, Samuel Taylor line running from said Oake by a line of marked trees between said Taylor and Robert Slocomb into Jengoteague Branch and the line between Scarburgh Tunell and William Watts running from the said Oak by a line of marked trees till it intersets William Ewels line.

Slocomb: The line between William Finney and Lemuel Kendall beginning at a Cedar Stake in the Marsh at the Sea Side & from thence by a line of marked trees to Jingoteague Branch. The line between Capt John Walker and John Blake beginning at a Walnut tree being a corner tree between said Kendal and said Blake and from thence up a line of marked trees into Jingoteague Branch & from the aforesaid walnut tree by a line of marked trees to a red Oak that stands in the line of Roland (Robert?) Slocomb & from the said Oak by a line of marked trees to Jingoteague Branch. No line found between John Blake and Roland (Robert?) Slocomb from the water till we come to a red Oak that made the corner tree of John Wlaker. The line between William Watts and Roland (Robert?) Slocomb beginning at a Hickory tree near the marsh at the Sea Side and then by a line of marked trees to a red Oak which tree is a corner tree between Thomas Watts, Samuel Taylor & Scarburgh Tunnell; Samuel Taylors line running from said Oak by a line of marked trees between said Taylor & Rolland Slocomb in Jingoteague Branch and the line between Scarburgh Tunnell & William Watts running from the aforesaid by a line of marked trees till it intersects William Ewells line done in the presence of the above named people.

The line between John Walker and John Blake beginning at a black walnut and from thence a line of marked trees into Jngotague Branch and from the above said Walnut tree by a line of marked trees to a red oak that stands in the line of Robert Slocomb and from the said oak by a line of marked trees to Jngotague Branch, done in the presence of the above persons. No line found between John Blake and Robert Slocomb from the Water till we came to a red oak that made the corner tree of John Walker; the between William Watts and Robert Slocomb beginning at a hickory tree near the marsh at the Sea Side and then by a line of marked trees to a red oak which tree is a corner tree between the said Watts, John Walker and Scarburgh Tunnell; John Walkers line running from the said oak by a line of marked trees said Walker and Robert Slocomb into Jngotague Branch; and the line between Scarburgh Tunall and William Watts running from the aforesaid oak be a line of marked trees till it intercepts William Ewells line, don in the presence of the above persons.

The line between John Watts & Robert Slocomb beginning at a hickory tree near the mark at the Sea Side and then a line of marked trees to a Red Oak which is a corner tree between said Watts and John Walker and Scarburgh Tunnel. John Walker's line running from the said Oak by a line of marked trees, said Walker & Robert Slocomb into Jngotague Branch. The line between Scarburgh Tunnell & John Watts running from the aforesaid Oak by a line of marked trees till it intercepts William Ewells line. The line between John Watts and William Ewell being a mulberry tree near the water on the Sea Side.
  Anecdote	1749	Accomack County, Virginia, USA   [12, 13]
  	The 4 processioners returns of 1735/36, 1739/40, 1743/44 and 1747/48, naming Robert Slocomb and one of his neighbors John Blake, are evidently of the same track of land as the descriptions are very similiar and all mentioning Jingoteague Creek. According to Whitelaw (p 1334) Jingoteague or Gingoteague Creek, is now called Mosquito Creek, alongside the southern branch of which was located the millpond which was first called Wallop's and then Watt's millpond. This combined with the fact that in 1741 Robert Slomcomb was security John Watts' estate, surely puts Rober Slocomb living on part of Whitelaw's track A174, which is just south and east of the present day Wattsville directly on the Sea Side. According to Whitelaw (p 1333/1) a William Blake purchased part of this track in 1686 from a William Turville of Somerset Co, MD. Whitelaw further states that in 1688 this land passed from William Blake to his sons William and John and another part went to a William Kenet and later to the son John Blake, who in 1726 left land to his adopted grandson John Blake, who was a son of Charles Blake, alias Price, deceased, and son of Mary, the daughter of Charles Ratcliffe of Somerset Co, MD. This adopted grandson John Blake, who died in 1761, was evidently the John Blake named in the above processioners returns between 1735 and 1748.

  	On 18 Mar 1748/49, Robert Slocomb of Acc Co, VA, taylor, for 12 pounds current money of Virginia, mortaged to George Douglas of the same place, the following: one walnut desk, two oval tables, the largest of maple and the smallest of walnut, four feather beds, two rugs, one blue and on green, and all the blankets and shoots to the above bed, five poutor dishes, six soup plates, and all other poutor now the property of Robert, six cyder hoggs heads, two young steers, four cows and one yearling. The said cattle, except the yearling are not yet marked with the proper mark of the said Robert, to wit: both ears croped and one slit in the right ear. George Douglas was to only use these items until Robert or his heirs delivered the 12 pounds with interest. After one year this would be considered a sale. It was signed by Robert Slocomb, S.S., in the pressence of John Pardise, Littleton Dennis and Tabitha Douglas Junior and presented in court on 31 May 1749. (NOTE: The "S.S." after his signature stands for Sea Side, implying there was another Robert Slocomb in Acc Co, probably on the Bay Side. Another possibility is that since his father had lived on the Bay Side at the head of Guilford Creek, that he had always used the "S.S." to distinguish himself from this father and continued to use it after his father's death.)
