  	He was shown as a son William Christian (under age) in the will of William Christian and was given his 400 acre plantation. I lend to my son William my 400 acre plantation, but if he should try to sell or die without heirs, then I give to my next eldest son living. If they both die then I give the land to my daughter Margaret Christian. To my son William my negro woman Bett and Candas, silver shoe buckles, and gold sleeve buttons marked "W.C." Friend George Ker to supervise the estate of my son William until he is of lawful age.

Seymour; that the said George Seymour at the time of his death was seized in fee simple of a tract of land situate near Pungoteague containing 400 acres, and that the land descended to his three children aforesaid; that after the death of the said George Seymour your oratrix Elizabeth intermarried with your orator, William A. Christian, and the said Rosey Seymour intermarried with your orator John B. Revell, and she has since died leav ing issue of the said marriage your oratrix Rosey Revell who is her only child, &c.

Ames are the only heirs at law of George Christian dec'd, formerly an officer in the Virginia Navy in the Rev. War. The said Thomas C. Ames and Matilda J. Ames being the only children of Sally Ames dec'd, a sister of the whole blood to the said George Christian; the said James Fisher being the only child of Elizabeth Christian dec'd, a sister of the half blood to the said George Christian dec'd; the said Catherine Ward being the only child of Catey Ames dec'd a sister of the half blood to the said George Christian dec'd; the said William A. Christian and Margaret Ames being the only children of William Christian dec'd, a brother of the half blood of said George Christian; the Mahala Guest being the only child of John Milby dec'd who was the only child of Rosey Christian dec'd, a sister of the half blood to said George Christian dec'd; and the said Mahala Guest, Shadrack T. Ames, Tabitha A. Ames being the only children of Nancy Ames dec'd, a sister of the half blood to said George Christian dec'd. (NOTE: The above text is verbatim from Nottingham's Soldiers & Sailors of the ES of VA in the Rev. War, p. 22. However there seems to be some obvious errors as Rosey Christian married William Fisher and would have been the mother of James Fisher instead of Elizabeth. Elizabeth Christian married Adial Milby and would have been the mother of John Milby instead of Rosey. William Christian, wife Matilda, did not name daughters Catey and Nancy in his 18 Mar 1772 will, which was probated 10 Aug 1773, 1 year & 5 months later. So, there is the possibility of another younger child. Since Officer George Christian dec'd, mentioned in Nottingham's above text, gave his mother his finest linen in his will of 2 Dec 1782, his mother was evidently his father's second wife Matilda. Therefore, the whole blood and half blood relationships, mentioned in Nottingham's above text, were used to determine the correct mother for Officer George Christian's siblings. Nancy Ames dec'd, mentioned in Nottingham's above text, was shown as Nancy Ames (not Christian) when she married John Milby on 27 Aug 1793 and the Ames family chart on p. 33 of Ames, Mears & Allied Lines, shows her as the daughter of William Christian's widow Matilda and her second husband Col. Shadrack Ames, which makes her a sister of the half blood to Officer George Christian on her mother's side. Catey Ames dec'd, mentioned in Nottingham's above text, was shown as sister of the half blood to Officer George Christian, therefore she was a daughter of William Christian's first wife Keziah Johnson, but not being named in William Christian's will, she was evidently the unborn child named in the 1747 will of Keziah's first husband Henry Blair. All the other mentioned whole blood - half blood relationships were based on the father's side.)

  	William Christian, formerly a Lieutenant in the Virginia State Navy in the Rev. War, died in the month of January 1800. Thomas Parramore, who quaifiled as his administrator with the will annexed is dead. Administration de bonis non with the will annexed of said William Chrisitan was granted by this Court on 10 June 1833 to William A. Christian, who is now the only surviving child of said William Christian.

  	He left to wife the "right to remain in my mansion house and to cultivate my plantation" if she choose, and pay rent, and receive a third of the net profits of the whole estate during her life. To son William 2/3 of his plantation (which was Locust Grove) during wife's life, then William to have the whole, also 14 negroes. William was to receive a liberal education and a profession. The testator gave his executors authority to send son William to school or college south of the Potomac; if son refuses selection, wife to have above slaves & plantation; if she should be dead, then to 2 grandchildren. If all should be dead, then plantation & slaves should go to nephews George E. & John A. Ames. He would perfer son to study legal profession, but "if my executors think his talents better suited to medicine or some other liberal profession," then he should pursue that. The executor should have such authority until son completes his study for a career. Remainder was to go to 2 grandchildren, William Seymour Christian & George Christian, and mentioned "my 2 grown sons." Executors & guardians of son & grandsons were to be friends Wm. B. Seymour & Miers W. Fisher. Witt: Miers W. Fisher, Matilda J. Ames, Susan W. Johnson, Jas. M. Savage, and A.W. Downing. In a codicil or 21 Mar 1840, grandson George having died, his share to brother William S. Christian, with conditions.
