- Pvt William Beloat appeared on the Pay Roll of Capt. Thomas Parramore's Co. of the 9th Batt'n of Virginia Forces on Continental Establishment whereof Thomas Fleming, Esq, is colonel, in Nov & Dec 1776 at the rate of 6 2/3 dollars per month for 2 months of service and was paid 13 1/3 dollars.
Pvt William Belote enlisted 9 July 1777 and appeared on the Company Muster Roll dated 19 July 1777 in Capt. Thomas Parramore's Co. of the 9th Virginia Reg't of Foot commanded by Col. George Matthews.
Pvt Wm Belote was paid 14 Dolrs 16 72ds of the balance of the pay due the prisoners in Capt Thomas Parramore's Comp in the 9th Virginia Regt to 4 Oct 1777.

- William Belote, is listed as a Private in the Muster Roll of Captain Thomas Paramore's Company of the 9th Virginia Regiment (of Foot) in service of the United States at Germantown. Commanded by Colonel George Mathews, the muster roll was taken at Germantown, Pennsylvania August 1st, 1777. He enlisted on July 7th, 1777. Pvt. William Belote was taken prisoner on October 4th, 1777 at the Battle of Germantown. Defeated, General Washington retreats to Valley Forge to retrain his ill prepared troops. Despite the loss, France is impressed and agrees to further back the American cause thus ultimately changing the tide of the American Revolution.

Accomack Court, 27 May 1834, Certified that Sally Gardner wife of William; Nancy Elliott, wife of George and John Edwards are "The children of Jacob Edwards" as mentioned in the will of William Belote, a soldier in the Va. Contl. line in the Rev. War. Charles Belote another devisee of William Belote is now living, and that George Belote another devisee, died intestate and without issue, leaving the said Charles Belote and the children of Jacob Edwards the only heirs at law of William Belote. A true copy, teste, J.J. Ailsworth, Dep. Clerk.
