War, app. John J. Joynes of Accomack Co. their Atty. The above named (ex-cept Polly West) ackn'd the power of Atty, bef. Lewin Joynes J. of P. Accomack Co. Accomack Co. Ct. 29 June, 1832, Certified that William Lewis, the younger, and John Lewis, two of the heirs of Thomas Bonwell, a Master in the state navy, both died intestate and no copy of will is on file in this office. Copy tetse. J. J. Ailsworth, dep. Clk. Also certified that no will of Sarah Bonwell, sister of Thormas Bonwell, is of record in this office nor of Peggy West, formerly Bonwell; that the following proofs were certified, that McKiel Bonwell, brother of Thomas died intestate; that Peggy Russell formerly Lewis one of the heirs of Thomas Bonwell died intestate; that William Lewis the elder, died intestate. Teste, J. J. Ailsworth. Genl. Land Off. 19 June, 1837. To William Selden, Reg. Va. L Off. "Mr. Seml. C. White, guardian of Elisabeth Bonwell dau, of McKiel Bonwell. has called for scrip due her as one of the heirs of Thomas Bonwell, I do not find her name listed in papers. Mr. White resides at Onancock, Accomack Co. Signed, Jas. Whitcomb, Comm'r. Memo, made by clerk of land office: Wt. 7210 to Sophia Gardiner, 148 acres; Wt. 7211 to Sally Gunter, 148 acres; Wt. 7284 to John N. and Narcissa Crippen; Wt. 7283 to Lewis Bonwell and Anna Snead, 444-4/9 acres; Wt. 7285 to Betsey Ball and others, 444 acres, Wt. 8249 to McKiel Bonwell and Polly West, 296 Acres; Wt. 8250 to Isaiah, Sarah, Solomon, Nancy, John, William, Betsey and Edward Russell; Parker, George and William West; Robert and Anara Davis and ScarboroughTannill, 741 acres. Note: On the reverse side of the above memorandum is Written: "The heirship which was files with Wt. 7250 was mailed today to Com'r. Whitcomb, and is to be returned and files with the papers." This certificate does not appear to be among these papers.
