Mears of Levin gave wife Nancy the Bible and hymn book, 1 bed and furniture, 1 flag chair, 1 rocking chair, 1 spinning wheel, 1 bureau, 1 trunk, 1 brown chest, 1 small red table and mantle clock, o horse and Carriage - also during her lifetime the Carriage house at my main place to shelter her carriage. Further to wife Nancy house and lot I now live on in her lifetime and log timber and firewood for said lot. This shall not be in lieu of her dower, but her right of dower shall be unimpaired. To dau. Margaret Adeline Ward $10.00. Rest and residue not disposed of to be equally divided between my 4 children, Sallie Ann Mears, Mary Susan Mears, Hester Ann Davis and John Edward Mears. Son John Edward Mears and son-in-law Littleton Davis execs. 9 Feb 1865. Wit: James W. Edmonds, Thos. H. Bell, James L. Bell.
