  	According to Whitelaw (p. 853) in 1710 Francis and Elizabeth Hill sold 100 acres to John Only, who died in 1722(sic) actually 1719, leaving a widow Micall and a son William as heir-at-law and that Micall married Jacob Rodgers. Then, according to Turman, on 6 Sep 1710 John Only bought another 117 acres for 10,000 lbs of tobacco. On 5 Dec 1710 Francis Hill presented and acknowledged a deed of sale for land he sold to Jno. Onely. Turman shows the land was located between the present villages of Locustville and Onley, north of Burtons Branch, a run of Little Metompkin Creek. According to Whitelaw (p. 861) William Only inherited the whole from his father John, except that in 1719 John and Tabitha Bagwell confirmed to John Only the 117 acre part of his land which Elizabeth Scarburgh had sold to John Perry in 1703. (NOTE: John Bagwell's wife Tabitha was the daughter of this Elizabeth Scarburgh, not a daughter of the John Only who died in 1719, which was reported my Turman.) (NOTE: Whitelaw did not realize that John's son William died in 1734 and left a son William to inherit and then in 1738 John's son Fairfax left his brother William's son William his 1/2 of the land.)
