  	Thomas Riley and wife Elizabeth (attorney: Littleton Dennis) complained against Ezekiel Young, Thomas Wise with wife Wise, Thomas Young, John Young (both minor orphans of John Young), John Only, Elizth Only and Tabitha Only (Charles Bagwell representing the last five). Ordered that Smith Snead, John Snead, Thomas Custis and Spencer Drumond (or three of them) divide the slaves mentioned in the bill and report next court. On 28 June 1758 it was recorded that in Thomas Riley with wife Elizabeth vs Ezekiel Young, Thomas Wise with wife Wise, Thomas Young, John Young, John Onley, Elizabeth Onley and Tabitha Onley, the slaves mentioned in the bill were distributed as follows: To Thos Wise and wife Wise – Negro Robin (worth £15) and to pay £3:15:00 each to the Rileys, Ezekiel and Smith Onley’s children. To Ezekiel Young – a Negro girl called Dilly (£15) and to pay £3 each to the Rileys, Onley children, John Young’s children and the Wises. To Thos Riley and wife – a Negro woman called Hannah (£35) and to pay £7 each to Ezekiel, the Wises, the Onley children and John Young’s children. To John Young’s children – £10. To Smith Onley’s children – £13:15:00. Costs were equally shared. Signed by Thos Custis, Spencer Drumond and Smith Snead.

  	The petition of Lorance Riley of Sussex on Delaware, yeoman, setting forth that Smith Only late of the county aforesaid dec'd intestate and at the time of his death was possessed of a tract of land in the Broad Kill Hundred in Sussex . . . supposed to contain 200 acres & left issue a son named John Onley (of age) & 2 daughters (unnamed) & the son being of age, your petitioner having made a purchase of the aforesaid John 2 shares as may appear by deed duly affixed. Your petitioner therefore (as the purchaser) order for a division of the land aforesaid. Whereupon the court appointed Mesrs John Spencer Esqr, Willm Fowler, Jno Clowes Jnr, Willm Tull & Lodiwick Warren to divide the land. (Sussex Co, DE, Orphans Court Records, Vol 4, p. 67)

  	On 3 Jun 1763 in Accomack Court Rodger Abbot (attorney: James Henry) brought attachment against John Only, who failed to appear. Thomas Riley swore he had nothing of Only’s; Ezekiel Young had nothing at present, but had had “five Plain Stocks, Some with irons in them,” a gouge, chisel, auger, two-foot rule, an old stocking and a file. Abbot was to recover £10 with 5% interest from 25 January 1763. An additional attachment was issued. Also on this same date Ezekiel Young’s attachment against John Only was dismissed; Young’s bond was judged insufficient.

  	From John Onley, planter of Sussex Co, DE, to Lawrence Ryley, planter of the same place. For 30 pounds John Onley's part of 200 acres, i.e., 1/2 as per the law as the oldest son. Tract is situated in Broadkill Hundred and was land that Smith Onley died possessed of and was laid out for 200 acres. Land adjoins on the north land in possession of John Holmes, easterly on land in possession of Ezekiel Reed, southerly on land in possession of Walter Reed, and westerly on land in possession of William Carpenter Jr. Smith Onley purchased the land from Daniel Ponder and when Smith Onley died intestate the tract devolved to his 3 children: John Onley, Elizabeth Onley and Tabitha Onley. (NOTE: Elizabeth Onley married Littleton Reed, son of John Reed, maybe Jr., and an Abbott girl.) John Onley appoints John Clowes Sr and John Clowes Jr to be his attornies. John Onley signs. That as William Wyatt dec’d left by his will land to be sold for cash & appointed the above Joshua Wyatt & George Cutler Extrs of his will, for 134 pounds, 17 shillings current money a tract of land containing 93 acres adjoining northerly by John Taylor, easterly by John Lingo, southerly by Housen Mapp & westerly on Meers Branch. Whitelaw adds that William Wyatt's executor sold 93 acres to John Onely and in 1794, he (wife Nancy) left it to his son Jesse Only.
