  	In 1736 the will of Azariah Hunt of N'hamp (wife Ann) directed that his Accomack land should be sold, and two years later, the heir-at-law Thomas and the widow Ann deeded 364 acres in trust to James Wishart for William Chance and his daughter Patience and then it was to go to her heirs. Chance must have survived Patience, as in 1751 he left a home place of 364 acres to a grandson John Coard, and after his death the land was surveyed as 431 1/2 acres in 1813 for a division among the heirs: Parker, Arthur, John & William Coard, who recieved their shares from south to north in the order given. The land extended across the tract on the north side of the Wattsville road.
