  	William and Mary Elizabeth Thornton lived south of Assawoman. He was a boat captain plying his trade to Philadelphia and Baltimore. They are buried amongst a clump of trees on the east side of Metompkin Rd. in between some black folks and Ryan Chesser's chicken houses. The cemetery is terribly overgrown and we have never visited it (Sue & Becky Boggs).
