  	It was in this year that John Kitson left the land west of the seaside road to his wife Elizabeth for life; this must have been a part of the fee-simple land inherited from his father. Elizabeth died two years later, and while no record of a division was found, all of the Kitson land later appeared in the possession of two grandsons, Thomas Crippen Jr. & Thomas Evans.

  	It was on this date that administration on the estate of Thomas Crippen was granted to John Custis, his father-in-law of Whitelaw's tract A68A. John Parker (Matompkin) security. According to Whitelaw, the heir to the intestate Thomas seems to have been a Sally Crippen, as she appeared for some years in the processioning records as the owner of the land here. According to Whitelaw, this Thomas Crippen died intestate in 1786 and the title to his part of his grandfather John Kitson's land reverted to his mother Sarah Crippen. However, is seems more likely that this Sarah was his daughter.
