- James Duncan purchased another part of tract A133, known as Gale's Swamp, in 1793 from George Gale of Baltimore. The sales reported came to 1,744 acres, or somewhat more than the patent acreage. Duncan had the land surveyed, found it to contain 951 acres, and sold most of it as follows, the lines for each parcel being run on a survey. Kept by Duncan, 118 acres; John Burton, 200 acres and 80 acres; Jacob Bird, 32 acres; John Litchfield, 100 acres; Solomon Boston, 50 acres; Bennet Mason, 32 acres; Solomon Johnson, age 167 acres; Isaac Warner, 25 acres; Wm. Lucas, 25 acres; James Small, 70 acres; and some residue, 51 acres.
