  	He was shown as a son Edward Fiddeman Thornton in the will of Mary Thornton. Joseph & William Fiddeman were named Extrs and guardians to son Edward Thornton.

  	A survey made the year after his father's will was probated showed 146 acres, of which the south part of 49 acres went to Edward Thornton and the balance of 97 acres to Henry Thornton.

  	Surveyors Record No. 4, 1807-1818 mentions Henry Thornton's deceased brother Edward in a survey made 1813. Deed book 1807-10 mentions Edw F. Thornton dec'd in an 1809 deed. His guardian accounts stopped in Oct 1805. Donna Rilling also reports there is no Edw Thornton in the Accomack Co Personal Tax records around the year he should have reached majority. There are no property deeds for which he is grantor or grantee, and he never marries. Why the administration should have waited till 1826--assuming this is the same person--she doesn't know. Donna hasn't been able to find any record of what the administrators submitted to the court. (She checked Wills &c and also the Inventories series which starts in 1828.) She also found a chancery cause from 1851 giving his death in Sept 1807.
