  	In his will Alexander Benston gave to son Edward Bensten all my lands reversion to his son Alexander Bensten. To my several daughters & their husbands & their children what I have given them now in their possession. Children of my son in law Charles Davis residual legatees. Son Edward Exr. To William Merrils 2 youngest children by my daughter Witt: George Douglas, William Chance. In order of prob: Levin Bensten heir at law to Alexander Bensten.

  	Alexander Benston left all of his land to a son Edward and then to the latter's son Alexander. In 1671 Massey Benston sold the land to George Holden, stating that he was the brother of the grandson Alexander, upon whose death Massey had inherited. Three years later, presumably after his marriage, he and his wife Tabitha gave a new deed to Holden and acreage was given as 272 acres. In 1803 Holden heirs (see A58) sold 138 acres and a mill, call the Dams Plantation, to William M. Beavans, and in 1830 commissioner sold to Oliver Logan.
