  	Mr. James Kempe presented an orphan boy named Makemie Boggs and requested that the child be bound to him since there were no relatives to provide care. Eleven-year-old Makemie consented to become an apprentice to Kempe till arriving at lawful age; Kemp agreed to teach him to read, write and the “art or mistery of a cooper.” At the expiration of the term, Makemie was to be paid according to law. (NOTE: James Kempe had married Naomi, the widow of Francis Makemie.)

  	It was in this year that Peter Watson and his wife Mary resold to Whittington Bayly and he and his wife Lisha sold 50 acres to Makemy Boggs. Three years later they sold 30 acres to Edmund Potter and his wife Mary and they resold Makemie Boggs. This was all from the John West Part of tract A55.
