  	Edm. Scarburgh, merchant, freely give to John Smart (for my daughter Tabitha, now wife of John Smart) all the tract of land belonging to me at Maggattey Bay in Northampton County and livestock. Witt: Tho. Johnson, Tho. Teackle and John Dollinge. Whitelaw adds that this gift was made as a marriage portion for his daughter Tabitha, who was the wife of Smart.

  	It was on this date that William & Margaret Waters resold tract A23 to Devorax Browne, merchant, who had married Tabitha (Scarburgh) Smart, widow of John Smart. Margaret Waters consented to the sale on 28 Feb 1659/60 and on this same date Wm Water stated the he received 12,500 lbs tobacco from Mr. Devorix Brown for a plantation lying upon Nanditt Creek.
