  	Mr. Anthony L. Hall, a Civil War Veteran of Withams, died on 28 Aug 1930, aged 88 years. He enlisted in the Conferate Army in 1861 and was in the Battles of Petersburg, Seven Pines, and Deepbottom. The funeral was at Downing Church by the Reverand Wade H. Flecther. He was survived by one daughter, Mrs. William Fisher of Delmar, one son Esley A. Hall of Withams, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Taylor of ___lson, NC and Mrs. James Davis of Pocomoke and by ten grandchildren. (E.S. News, 29 Aug 1930).
