- Mrs. Maria Jane Myers, widow of Robert W. Myers, and daughter of the late Anthony and Mrs. Maria Minter Foster, died at 7:07 o'clock last night in the residence of her son, Robert H. Myers, 916 Fourth street, after an illness of a year's duration. She was 83 years old.
Mrs. Myers had been a resident of the city for her entire life, and was possessed of a wide circle of acquaintances, who will receive the news of her death with regret.
She is survived by the following children: Anthony F. Myers, Mrs. Carrie Virginia Calvert, Mrs. Ellen F. Linton, Robert H. Myers, Jefferson D. Myers, Mrs. Agnes M. Crockett and William C. Myers. Twenty-nine grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren also survive her.
The funeral service will take place at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, n the First Presbyterian church. Burial will take place in Cedar Grove cemetery.

- Much of the information about "Aggie" (Myers) Crockett and her family came from a slip of paper her mother, Maria Jane (Foster) Myers, wrote and was left inside her son's, Carlton Lewis, Bible. Mrs. Agnes M. Crockett, wife of Mr. Severn J. Crockett, died at Saxis on 24 Feb 1937, aged 69 years, survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 27 Feb 1937). Her death certificate shows her as Agness M. Crockett, a 69 year old wife of Severn J. Crockett, born in Portsmouth, VA, the daughter of Robert Myers (born Portsmouth, VA) and Mariah Hudgins(sic) (born Virginia). See died 24 Feb 1937 at Saxis, VA. The information was given by W. Crockett, of Saxis, VA (her son). (NOTE: It is unclear why Will Crockett showed her mother as Mariah Hudgins, when all other sources show she was Maria Jane Foster.)
