It included all of the area east of the seaside road from Indiantown Creek up to the northern extent of the Savage patent land, except for the 200 acres of Michael Savage land in the southwest corner.

- The will of Isaac Avery of Norfolk - (ITEM) I give to my eldest son Isaac Waightstil Avery and his heirs forever all that part of my land in Warwick County which lies between the County road and James River. (ITEM) I give to my son James Avery and his heirs forever all the remaining part of my land in Warwick County, be the same more or less. (ITEM) I give to my loving wife Polly Avery and her heirs forever the following slaves to wit: Dick, Frank, Guy, Robin, Amey & Hannah. (ITEM) I give unto my four children Isaac Waightsil Avery, James Avery, Peggy Stringer Avery and Betsy Avery & their heirs forever to be equally divided among them, the following slaves to wit: Jacob, Adam, Peter, Will, Sam, Isaac, Comfort, Mary, Rose, Linder, Leah & Beck. (ITEM) I give to my said daughters, Peggy Stringer Avery and Betsy Avery, to be equally divided between them all the remaining part of my estate of every kind. (ITEM) It is my meaning and desire that the devise of slaves here made to my wife, them to her dower as to my slaves only, and not as to my land or personal estate, slaves excepted. It is my desire that my Extr herein after named, shall sell off my personal estate, slaves excepted, immediately after my demise for ready cash. (ITEM) I leave the guardianship, person and property of my said son Isaac Waightstil Avery, to my dear friend Major Thomas Parker of Accomack. (ITEM) I leave the guardianship of my said son James Avery, person & property to my dear brother-in-law, Isaac Dolby. (ITEM) I leave the guardianship of my said daughter Peggy Stringer Avery, to my dear friend Mr. Archibald Godwin. (ITEM) I leave the guardianship of my said daughter Betsy Avery, person & property to my dear brother-in-law, Mr. John Stringer Senr of Accomack. (ITEM) I do appoint the said John Stringer Senr sole Extr to this my last will & testament. And I also appoint Thomas Newton Junr, Esq. of Norfolk, a Trustee to the same.

Norfolk Borough - At a Hustings Court continued and held 24 December 1799. The last will and testament of Isaac Avery dec'd, was proved by the oath of Caty Parker and George Boggs, two of the witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of John Stringer Senr, Extr therein named, who made oath and together with John Stratton and George Boggs his security, entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of $10,000, condition as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining probate in due form.

- To my son Esau the plantation I live on, i.e., all my land northward of the land purchased from James Powell, provided he pays to my grandson Archibald Stringer son of John by my dau. Mary and to my grandson Joseph Godwin son of Edmund by my dau. Anne Gray, when they arrive at lawful age, £50 each. To my son Esau ns. old Hannah, James, Nat, and Martha, my largest still, horses "Celar" and "Damon", mares "Phillis" and "Phenix", wain and yoke of steers, walnut table, best desk, 6 best chairs and corner chair. To my dau. Mary Stringer n. man Telbury and other ns. now in her possession. To my granddau. Susanna dau. of John Stringer by my dau. Mary, my n. girl Jenney. To my granddau. Sarah dau. of John Stringer by my dau. Mary, my n. girl Patience. To my dau. Susanna my ns. Rose, Annis, great Daniel, Ebbin, Abraham, Rose's child Harriot, little Hannah, and George, 6 silver tablespoons, dressing drawers, my best counterpanes, spinning wheel, and a pair of silver sugar tongs. To my dau. Sarah my ns. great Esther, Ibby, Leah, Sophia, Parker, Charles, and little Daniel, 6 silver tablespoons, and 6 teaspoons marked "A+GA", dressing table, and spinning wheel. To my daus. Susanna and Sarah all my right in a bond due me from George Savage, Esq. with (Col.) Littleton Savage security, and my riding chair horse "Topping". To my daus. Susanna and Sarah the use of the land I purchased from James Powell and the land purchased from Jacob Houghton both containing 200 A. for 10 years and then the use of the houses and 2 A. adjoining on both the said tracts if they remain unmarried. To my dau. Anne G. Godwin all the ns. and other property already given her. After the above period of 10 years I give the land to my son Esau excepting the houses and 2 A. if daus. remain single. Son Esau and daus. Susanna and Sarah resid. legatees. If son Esau dies without lawful issue then his legacies to be div. by my said daus. Mary, Susanna, Sarah, and Anne Gray. Son Esau extr.
