  	HAMPTON Judith Logan Barnes, 54, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, after a long illness. Born in Hampton, she was a lifelong resident, where she was a member of West Hampton Baptist Church. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Sarah Logan; and three brothers, the Rev. Paul B. Logan Jr., Thomas K. Logan and Billy Logan. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, David L. Barnes; children, Steve Barnes and Carolyn Burdette, Paula Y. and David J. Riley, Tammy A. Smith and Pat Justice, and Karin Barnes and Marty Mills. Other survivors include Doris H. Barnes, Denna and Heather Zacharias, George and Carolyn Barnes, and Jean Logan; and six grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. W. Robert May and Dr. J. Rick Wilson. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. They will be at 2510 LaGuard Drive, Hampton, at other times. Memorials may be made to Wythe Volunteer Rescue Squad, Kecoughtan Road, Hampton, Va. 23661.
