- Capt. John M. Richardson, 81, died of natural causes Thursday in the Marine Hospital in Baltimore. Capt. Richardson was retired but had served in the Coast Guard for 33 years as keeper of the Hog Island and Assateague Coast Guard Stations. Since his retirement he had made his home with this niece, Mrs. Mollie Rowley Davis, in Chincoteague. He was born in Public Landing, near Pocomoke City, the son of the late Edward Ambrose and Mary Bratton Richardson. Surviving is a brother, George E. Richardson of Snow Hill. Interment will be in Whatcoat Cemetery, Snow Hill.
