Departed this life March 22nd, 1892, at his residence in Accomac county, Samuel Barnes, in the 70th year of his age.
He embraced religion in early manhood and became a member of the Guilford Methodist Episcopal Church. South, and continued faithful until the day of his death. He was run over by the train Tuesday, March 22nd, and died of the injuries received in less than an hour thereafter. He had a calm and unclouded prospect of Heaven.
His funeral was preached by Rev. J. W. Nicholson, from Genesis, 5th chapter, 24th verse and was attended by a large assembly of people. He left to mourn his loss a devoted and aged wife and two children.
