- SMYRNA - Bertie Barnes Wise, 84, of 241 Maple St., Smyrna, died yesterday at Kent General Hospital, Dover, after a long illness. Her husband, Harvey E. Wise, died in 1945. Surviving are two daughters, Thelma Broadwater of Hampton, and Nancy W. Faries of Smyrna; a son, Harvey E. of De Funiak Springs, Fla., 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday morning at 10 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, with interment in Mt. Holly Cemetery, Onancock, Va. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Union Smyrna, or to a favorite charity.
