- PARKSLEY - Mrs. Minnie E. Barnes, 80, formerly of Hopkins near here and widow of James G. Barnes, died Monday in the Accomack County Nursing Home following a brief illness. For the past eight years she had been making her home with her daughter. Mrs. Bertie B. Wise of Salisbury, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Albert J. Papaleo. of Wilmington, Del. Her parents were the late George R. and Catherine Middleton Justis of Va. Besides Mrs. Wise and Mrs. Papaleo she is survived by two grandsons Capt. Harvey Wise of the U.S. Air Force, Sumter. SC. and Maurice Barnes, U.S. Navy, York, Me., three grandchildren, Mrs. Walter J. Broadwater of Newport News. Mrs. Kathleen Sharpe of Wilmington, and Mrs. Ralph G. Fanes of Smyrna, Del., 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were to held at the Parksley Funeral Home today at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev Richard Buckingham of Hunting Creek Methodist Church of which she was a member, interment in Liberty Cemetery here.
