- F. S. Whittington, Retired Banker, Dies In Felton
Frank S. Whittington, 64, retired banker who lived in Felton for the last three year, died yesterday in his home. A native of Monrovia, Whittington was graduated from Polytechnic school in Los Angeles and the University of Arizona before going to work for the Security First National Bank for 16 years. He managed a branch bank before he became associated with the Federal housing administration.
He retired three years ago and came to Santa Cruz county for his health. Whittington is survived by his widow, Edna, and a son, Frank S. Jr., both of Felton; a brother, C. W. of San Gabriel; and three sisters, Ida Douglas of Tucson, Ariz.; Jessie Smith of Charleston W Va (Charlottesville, Va), and Florence Langford of Baltimore, Md.
He was a veteran of World War I. Services will be conducted by Rev. Isaphene McGuire of the Chapel of Truth of San Jose at 2 p.m. Saturday in White's chapel. Entombment will be at IOOF mausoleum. (Santa Cruz Sentinel, Santa Cruz, California, Thur., 28 Apr 1955, p. 12)
Funeral services were conducted yesterday at 2 p.m. in White's chapel for Frank S. Whittington. Rev. Isaphene McGuire of the Chapel of Truth in San Jose officiated. Pearl Reid played the selections, "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life," "Trees," and "Melody of Love" on the organ. Entombment followed in the IOOF mausoleum.
