- The marriages of Miss Lola Cella and Harold Benjamin Laudeman and Miss Florence Weirick and Paul Cella, Jr., were solemnized Saturday afternoon in Phoenix with just themselves, the minister and each other as witnesses present. The wedding date for the first couple had been set for June 14, and announcements and invitations sent out. The marriage of the second couple was set for October in Pasadena home of the bride's parents. But formal dates meant nothing in the face of summer and romance and to the surprise of friends this announcement will be read for it was kept a close secret from all but the families.
Miss Cella is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Cella of Tucson. Mr. Laudeman is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Laudeman of Prescott. ......
Miss Florence Weirick is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter William Weirick of Pasadena and is a niece of Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Ellicott Douglass of Tucson. She is a graduate of the girls' boarding school, Oakes, at Pasadena, where she received her training as a kindergarten teacher. She has been teaching at University Heights school in Tucson. Mr. Cella is a local attorney, associated in the practice of law with his father. He, too, is a Tucson man, high school and University of Arizona graduate, though he received his degree from the Cumberland school in Tennessee. He is a member of law and social fraternities on the campus and is a member of Scabbard and Blade. He will take his bride for a honeymoon trip in California, where the couple will visit for a short time with her parents in Pasadena. They will return to Tucson in July to remain for the summer, opening a house at 443 East Fourth street during the vacation months and this fall taking a permanent home.
