Fred and Marian owned and operated a mail order and retail orchard supply business for eight years. He was a field representative for Blue Ridge Fruit Exchange and sales consultant for Agway, Inc. He was a member of Religious Society of Friends, Adams Co. Fruit Growers Assoc., Penn State Horticulture Assoc., Nature Conservatory, Biglerville Historical and Preservation Society and a tutor for Adams County Literacy Council.
