  	Richard Pace and his wife Isabell came to Virginia by 1616, as both are described as Ancient Planters. On 5 Dec 1620, 200 acres on the south side of James River was granted to them jointly. This plantation, known as "Pace's Paines," across the river and not far from Jamestown, was the noctural scene of he disclosure of the Indian plot to massacre the white settlers, 22 March 1621/2. Chanco, a Christian Indian, revealed the plot to Pace and so saved the colony from extincton.
