1669 |
tract N90, north of Nassawadox, Northampton Co, Virginia [1, 4] |
- Henry Stott was granted a patent for the same 400 acres he later brought from George Dewey & his wife Ann. How he could have patented the land before he had purchased it is not clear. In 1688 he gave the south 200 acres to his son Jonathan and 4 years later in his will (his wife being named Hannah) he confirmed the gift and left the other half to his son David. (NOTE: Marshall's will book shows his wife as Priscilla.)
