  	William Taylor and his wife Elizabeth gave a deed to Bartholomew Mears for the 200 acres at the east end and Mears & his wife Mary deeded the 300 acres balance to Taylor. 1666 patent to Bartholomew Mears alone for 300 acres north of the branch, so after the above division he had land both below and above the branch. 1670 the Taylors sold their 300 acres to Edward Hitchens, 2 years later he had his part surveyed, to find that he had 340 acres, for which he received a patent in his own name.

  	Elizabeth Carter and Jean Hill were prosecuted on suspicion of murdering a bastard child, which contrary to law, was delivered to Elizabeth Carter without the help of a "sworn or practiced"midwife or other women. Mrs. Taylor and Ruth, the wife of Richard Bunduck, viewed the child and found it very bruised in the head; a piece of cloth about the head was bloody. That and other circumstances caused the court to doubt that Eliz. Carter and Jean Hill were under a mistaken suspicion of the felony of murdering the child. To better examine the facts, it was ordered that Elizabeth Carter remain in the sheriff's custody till the next court and that Jean Hill give security for her personal appearance at the next court, when the facts would be further examined and the decision would be made to either censure them or send them to the Governor and his council. Deposition of Elizabeth Taylor, the wife of Wm. Taylor, aged about 57 years, 26 October 1668: About the beginning of September at the request of Robert Hill, she went to his house, where she saw a dead newborn child lying on a chest. Hill's wife claimed it was Elizabeth Carter's child; it was all black across the body with a fine rag on its head. When Elizabeth Taylor put her hand on the child's head, she found it to be soft and the rag to be bloody. Signed, Elizabeth (X) Taylor. Deposition of Ruth Bunduck aged about 31 years: Jean Hill requested Ruth "to go to her house to see a child of Elizabeth Carter's that was stillborn." When Ruth came to see it, the flesh of the child was black with the skin "slipt or stript off," and the skull was very soft. The cloth that tied up the mouth was bloody. Signed, Ruth Bunduck.

  	Deposition of Eliza. Taylor (wife to Wm. Taylor) aged over 57 years, 28 October 1668: At the request of Robt.   	Deposition of Elizabeth Taylor and Susannah Watson, 17 September 1672: About eight days after Sarah Coulston was beaten by Mrs. Fawsett, they saw the girl's body; she had been "so inhumanely beaten that from her thighs downwards they could not perceive any part the breadth of a finger but was black and blue and yellow." She was also bruised on the front of her body. On the back of her legs, some stripes had scabs at the end. Signed, Eliz. (E) Taylor and Susanna (RW) Watson before Dan. Neech. Deposition of Gartrude Cropper, 17 September 1672: Sarah Colston came to Gartrude's house the night after she was whipped by her mistress. "I viewed her and saw the greatest part of her body beaten in a most inhumane manner, especially from the waist downwards...the blood lay dried up where it had trickled down the length of her finger and on her hips bumps like scabs with the vehemency of the blows."   	William Taylor (planter) for 1000 lbs tobacco, sold to Mr. Devorax Browne (merchant) and Thomas Bowles (miller) a tract of land at Occahanock Creek adjoining the water mill near Otterdams and bordering Richard Buckland. Signed 19 November 1672, William (WT) Taylor and his wife Elizabeth (ET) Taylor. Witnesses: John Culpeper and John Wise.

  	Jno. Stringer of Northampton County warranted to Wm. Tayler two patents he assigned to him. One signed 21 the other 12 January 1673/74, John Stringer. Witnesses: Jno. Custis,Walter Prit and Edward Hassard. Wm. Tayler assigned all his rights for three patents to Jno. Stringer of Northampton County and warranted the same from any claims. Signed 12 January 1673/74, Wm. (WT) Tayler. Witnesses: Jno. Custis, Walter Prit and Edward Hassard. Acknowledged in court 16 July 1674. According to Whitelaw William Taylor exchanged his 1,600 acres of A10 with Col. John Stringer (N49D) for a part of A141 and all of A146. Governor Wm. Berkeley granted to Col. Jno. Stringer (for transporting 21 persons) 1050 acres at Occocomson on the Sea Side bounded by Wm. Tayler, Tho. Ryding. Signed 1 April 1667, William Berkeley, Phill. Ludwell, clerk. Francis Moryson, esquire, granted a renewed patent to Wm. Tayler for 600 acres at Occohanocke Creek bounded by the Lesser and Greater Otterdams Branches. The first patent was dated 21 May 1651. Entered by Edm. Scarburgh and signed by FrancisMoryson and Tho. Ludwell. Governor Wm. Berkely renewed a grant to Wm. Tayler for 1000 acres in the woods between Occahanock Creek and Machapungo bounded by Edward Hitchin, Bartholl. Meares, Rich. Hill, Arthur Upshott, and the land of Potts as marked by Col. Scarburgh. The first patent was dated 28 May 1673. Signed 25 October 1673, William Berkely and Phill. Ludwell. Governor Wm. Berkeley granted a patent to Wm. Tayler (for transporting 20 persons) for 1000 acres between Occahanock Creek andMatchipungoe bounded by Edward Hitchin, Barthollmew Meares, Rich. Hill. Signed 30 October 1669, William Berkeley and Phill. Ludwell. Elizabeth Tayler, wife of Wm. Tayler, gave up any interest in the above three patents and released it to Jno. Stringer. Signed 16 July 1674, Elizabeth (ET) Tayler. Witnesses: So. Littleton and Edmond Bowman.

  	William Taylor and his wife Elizabeth transferred to John Stringer two pieces of land totalling 1600 acres at the head of Occahanock Creek adjoining the watermill now in the possession of the executors of Devorax Browne, deceased and Thomas Bowles,miller. This was in exchange for land at Occocompson. Signed 16 July 1674, William (WT) Taylor and Elizabeth (ET) Taylor. Witnesses: Southy Littleton and Edmond Bowman. John Stringer transferred to William Taylor two pieces of land of 1050 acres each located at Occocompson bordering the lands of Mr. Thomas Ryding and William Taylor. Payment was in the form of land at Occahanock Creek. At the expiration of William Kennett's lease of 100 acres, that land would return to Taylor. Signed 16 July 1674, Jno. Stringer. Witnesses: S. Littleton and Edmond Bowman.
