  	The deposition of Mr. William Cotton, taken in open court, saith that he and Samuel Chandler going to visit the wife of John Harlowe by the way they met Elyas Tayler and his wife, and being pasted by the said Tayler, the said Tayler and the said Chandler talking together, Tayler desired the deponent to speake with him and desired this deponent to bear witness that he would give Capt. Stone 500 lbs tobacco for the 50 acres of land that he had talked with Capt. Stone formerly. On the say day the deposition of Samuel Chandler taken in open court, saith that Elyas Taylor told him that he would give Capt. Stone 500 lbs tobacco for 50 acres of land and that Taylor knew not whether the thacht house were in the 50 acres of land or not and that he would be to as little cost thereupon as might be.

  	He was shown as Elias Taylor, carpenter. Admtrx: Anna Taylor widow of the dec'd. Estate inventory and appraisal by Henry Peddenden and William Jones. Appraisal of his lands and plantation ordered by the court. Anna Taylor, the now wife of John Hutchison and late the relict of the dec'd, gave part of the estate to the dau. (no name) of Elias. An accounting of the estate by Anna Taylor alias Hutchison recorded.

  	William Whittington sayth that a little before Christmas last past, he being in the company with John Cuttes at the house of Elias Taylor, dec'd, and the said Cuttes at that time making payment of certain corn unto the said Taylor, John Hutchinson being likewise there, and there being a difference about the payment of corn, the said Hutchinson replied he would take his oath that all the corn was to be paid there. John Cuttes replying he should not take his oath, upon which Hutchinson struck Cuttes a box on the ear and the Constable being present, charged them to keep the Kings Peace. And at the same time the wife of Taylor did by wordes not fitting to be uttered nor at present by me remembered disgrace and defamed the said John Cuttes.

  	Whereas Anna Taylor, now wife of John Hutchinson and late relict of Elias Taylor dec'd, has this day produced an account upon oath that she had satisfied beyond assettes by her received of her said husband's estate, as also of her voluntary good will have given a leagacy of one cow calf, one sowe ghoat and 60 lbs of tobacco unto the daughter of the said Elias Taylor. It is therefore thought fitt and accordingly ordered that she shall be discharged from the said estate, for which this shall be her Quietus estate. On the next page of the records is shown a true and just account of the full estate of Elias Taylor dec'd, exhibited in court by Anna Taylor, alias Hutchinson, his lawfull admrx. He owed about 25 persons fairly small amouts of tobacco, including Zachary Turner, Christopher Stephens, Mr. Severne, Lewis White, John Hutchinson, Capt. Stone, Andrew Jacob, John Dolbye, Robert West, Mr. Andrew, Mr. Charlton, Humphrey Edwards, Phillipp Taylor, & 20 lbs tobacco for his burial and grave making & 20 lbs tobacco for a patent of 150 acres, for a total of 1850 1/2 lbs tobacco. He also owed 5 persons a total of 7 barrels of corn. His inventory of goods and credits totaled 1759 1/2 lbs tobacco and 6 barrels of corn. The credits included 20 lbs tobacco received of William Taylor.
