- In her will Martha Dansey, widow, gave to granddaughters Mary Ashcom Greenfield and Elizabeth Greenfield, personalty. Should both die before age of 16 or marriage, legacies to pass to Samuel, Martha and Susannah (children of son Charles Ashcom). To daughter-in-law Judith Ashcom, granddaughters Martha and Susannah Ashcomb and Elizabeth (wife of Wm. Shelly), personalty. Should any of 4 granddaughters aforesaid marry a Roman Catholic to forfeit legacies herein bequeathed them. To grandson Samuel Ashcom, money in England, money and certain personalty in Maryland to be expended for a tract of land; and personalty, including a silver can marked M.D. To grandchildren Samuel, Martha and Susanna Ashcom, testator's share in estate of son John Ashcom, dec'd. - In his will Charles Ashcom, gent., gave to wife Judith, Extr, daughters Martha, Susannah and Elizabeth (at age of 16) and to son Samuel, Joyce Haines, Richard Ward Key and Philip Key, personalty. To 4 children aforesaid testator's share in personal estate of brother John, dec'd; division to be made at time that James Greenfield's children take their part of the estate. To daughter Martha and heirs, 100 acres of "Ashcom's Mary Greenfeild" adjcant Harris Hows; she dying without issue, to daughter Susannah and heirs; she failing issue, to daughter Elizabeth and heirs. To son Samuel and heirs, "Point Patience" and dwelling plantation "Marsh Neck"; said son dying without issue, to 3 daughters equally. Also land in Calvert Co. and "Town Neck" (part of dwelling plantation ___) in lieu of legacy from his grandmother Mrs. Martha Dansey, should he not accept, then to 3 daughters aforesaid equally. To Elizabeth Shelley, personalty out of debt due from her husband _____. To wife and 4 children, residue of personal estate equally. Overseers: Jeremiah Sheredine and Phillip Key: the latter to act as Extr should wife die during minority of children, and unti they are of age to receive what is herein or by testator's mother devised to them. Witt: Grace Clelan, Magdalen Tomlinson, Richard Deaver (Deavour), Thomas Truman Greenfield, Ellis Slater.
