- In his will Wescoat Kelly gave dau. Keziah McMath my land called the Lewis land, 103 acres, my land called the Elliott land, 75 acres. To son Abel G. Kelly my farm known as the Read land, 150 acres and my land known as the Mears land, 75 acres. To son George W. Kelly the land I purchased from Ezekiel Bloxom, 25 acres, and also the home place where I was born and raised, 100 acres. My farm where Capt. Golden Fox now resides, 30 acres, to my dau. Elizabeth Fox, wife of said Golden Fox, during her life, and at her death to my grandson Hezekiah Wescoat Fox. To grandsons George W. McMath and Frederick Kelly, son of Abel G. Kelly, equally divided, the lot where I now reside, 20 acres, and 12 acres of woodland known as Bull's Woods. My 2 lots in Onancock to be sold, and the proceeds entered into my estate. To each of my granddaughters, Margaret Susan Bull, Bettie Lilliston, Keziah Hopkins and Mary Fox, children of my dau. Elizabeth Fox, $500. To each of the children of my son Abel G. Kelly $100. To Alfred and Rebecca McMath, children of my dau. Keziah McMath, each $100. To each of the children of my son George W. Kelly, $100. To dau. Elizabeth Fox $500 during her life, and then to her children. To my sister, Rachel Savage, $50 per annum, during her natural life, to be paid to her quarterly. I direct that my executors, out of my estate, to have erected a family grave yard on the land above given to my son George W. Kelly for the benefit of all my children and their descendents. Rest and Residue to be equally divided between George W. Kelly, Abel G. Kelly and Keziah McMath. Son Abel G. Kelly and grandson George W. McMath, execs. Wit: Nathaniel Beloate, Upshur B. Quinby. McMath directed that whereas my three youngest children are not included in my $3000 life insurance policy, I hereby give to my three youngest daughters, Mammie Dunton, Pearl and Ida the baby the sum of $1000 each and direct my executor with the consent of my mother Kissia A. McMath and my wife Margaret D. McMath to have the farm where I reside at Onley Station laid out in streets and sold off in lots. I direct my executor to pay to building com. Of Church at Onley Station the sum of $100. Exec. Albert J. McMath. Proved 29 Sep 1890. John Grant and John W. Edmonds swore to the handwriting, there being no witness. Sureties Abel G. Mr. Albert J. McMath, the well-known and most efficient secretary and treasurer of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Produce Exchange, and Miss Emma Cordelia Smith, the popular and accomplished daughter of Francis S. and Emma Smith, near Mappsburg, were quietly married at “Willowdale,” the home of the bride, Thursday afternoon, June 4, 1903. The ceremony was preformed by Rev. E. M. Jordan and Rev. W. R. Crowder, pastors of the bride and groom. Hon. Benjamin T. Gunter was best man, and Miss Lilly Elmore, maid of honor.
Mr. and Mrs. McMath left on the afternoon train for Richmond and Ashland, the seat of Randolph-Macon College, where the groom will attend the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Randolph-Macon system of colleges and academies of which he is a member.
