He left the western 100 acres to Eleazer Johnson, or if he had no heirs, the succession was to be to Eliakim Johnson, then to Hezekiah Johnson, and finally to a brother Jonathan Smith. The eastern half he left to Hezekiah Johnson, but if heirs failed, the succession was to be to Eliakim Johnson, Eleazer Johnson or his brother Jonathan Smith. In 1757 the whole 200 acres somehow came into the possession of a John Shepherd who died intestate, and in this year his daughter Elizabeth with her husband John Harmanson of Northampton and his daughter Margaret with her husband Edward Ker of Accomack united in a deed for the 200 acres to John Fathery.3 |
