Besides confirming Bill, Peter and Charles' pedigrees, this and the fact that earlier yDNA results showed Elmer Kelly, an Accomack Co, VA, Kelly born 1944, an 8th generation male line descendant of Edmond Kelly (1702-1762) and Eddie Kelly, an Accomack Co, VA, Kelly, born 1950, a 9th generation male line descendant of John Kelly (1690-1763) (Edmond & John being sons of the first John Kelly (1660-1724) of Accomack Co, VA) match each other but they do not match Bill, Peter & Charles proves that Timothy Kelly was not a biological grandson of the first John Kelly. The likeliest case being that Timothy's father Thomas Kelly (1685-1727) was not a biological son of the first John Kelly. Additional support for this is Thomas' relatively shabby treatment in John Kelly's will. Thomas was the first born and possibly a son of John Kelly's wife Sarah Bell before she married John Kelly. |

Death* | 3 July 2015 | He died on 3 July 2015 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital, Nassawadox, Northampton Co, VA, at age 82. Mr. Edward Lee Gibbons passed away early Friday morning, July 3, 2015, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. He was 82 years old and was a member of Halls Chapel Church. Born in Southside Chesconnessex, VA on August 24, 1932, he was the oldest child of the late John Braden Gibbons, Sr. and Myrtle Spence Gibbons. He married the love of his life, Louetta Godwin Gibbons, in 1957. They shared 58 happy years together in Sanford, Virginia and enjoyed the love and life of two daughters, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. After they were moved from their longtime home in Sanford by Hurricane Sandy, they lived “up top” in Melfa with their daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Ron Matthews. Edward (also known as “Ozark” and “Pop Pop”) was a true Eastern Shore waterman with Tangier blood. His life working on the water began in his early teens, and didn’t end until he was 76 years old. In between, he raised chickens, perfected his boat building abilities at Chris Craft and furthered his carpentry skills with J. Roland Dashiell & Sons. Part of his legacy includes a small fleet of wooden deadrise workboats and skiffs as well as schools, bridges and condominiums. He returned to work the waters of the Pocomoke Sound and focused on his boat building in 1976. He eventually reluctantly turned to a fiberglass skiff, but always pulled his peeler pots by hand. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family, fishing, steaming crabs, telling jokes, square dancing, traveling a bit, experimenting in the kitchen and building models of his workboats. He also enjoyed learning about nearly anything, but in particular investing, the environment, extreme fishing and anything to do with NASCAR and Professional Wrestling. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Diana Gibbons Bonniwell; his mother-in-law, Irene W. Godwin; father-in-law, John Nathan Godwin; brother, Dickie Gibbons; sister-in-law, Peggy G. Miller and her husband Melvin; and four brothers-in-law, Johnny Godwin and his wife Margie, Andrew Parks, Ronnie Whitmore, and Olin Mears. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Tammy Gibbons Matthews and her husband Ron Matthews, Jr. of Melfa, VA; son-in-law Reade Bonniwell of Quinby, VA; a brother, Johnny B. Gibbons, Jr. and his wife Rosemary of Bloxom, VA; a sister, Lois Ann Mears of Onancock, VA; four sisters-in-law, Milicent Gibbons of Bloxom; Roberta Chance and her husband Eddie of Sanford, VA, Ann Pruitt and her husband Johnny of Pocomoke City, MD, and Sylvia Whitmore of Smithfield, VA; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christy L. Baylis, her partner Shawn Gaston, their son Aiden and his daughter Shanon of Edinburgh, VA, Cindy L. Daniels, her husband Brian of Blacksburg, VA, their children Connor and Caitlin, Connie L. Cooper, her husband Skyy and their daughter Elyana of Christiansburg, VA, Ashleigh M. Miller, her husband Matthew and their sons Brayden and Liam of Pikeville, NC, and Justin E. Matthews of Onancock, his wife Brittany and their daughter Mayson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Wachapreague Cemetery on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Freddie Ward officiating. There will be a visitation at the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home, Sunday, July 5, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.1 |

Will - Cousin's* | 21 June 1784 | Levin was named in his cousin's will on 21 June 1784 at Accomack Co, VA. In his will Levi Core named a brother Zorobabel (all my lands), a sister Adah Laws and a cousin Leven Core. (NOTE: There are two possibilities for this cousin Leven Core. The first being Levin, son of Levi's Uncle Zorobabel Core who named a son Levin in his will of 1798 in N'hamp County. However, this Levin was born no earlier then 1790 according to the 1830 and 1840 Acc Co census and thus was not alive when Levi Core wrote his will in 1784. The second being the only other older Levin Core who had married Mary Laws, a sister to the John Laws that had married Levi's sister Adah Core. This Levin Core (h/o Mary Laws) was listed in the 1800 census as over age 45 and sold land in 1790 and 1792 in Acc County with his wife Mary and her brother John Laws and his wife Adah who was named in Levi Core's will of 1784. In order for this Levin Core to be a cousin he would have had to have been either a son of Levi's Uncle Luke Core or his Uncle Charles Core. Since Luke was last found in his father's 1772 will in N'hamp County and since Charles died before 15 Jan 1791 in Acc County when administration on his estate was granted to a Zorobabel Core (either his brother or his nephew), it seems more likely that he was a son of Charles Core.)5 |

Land inherited* | 1789 | He inherited land in 1789 at tract A121, Modest Town, Accomack Co, VA. Laws, which included not only the inherited part, but acreages which he said he had bought from George Harmon, Ayres Mason, Delight James, John Jackson and John C. Russell.1 |
Land sold* | 27 December 1790 | He sold land on 27 December 1790 at tract A121, Modest Town, Accomack Co, VA. The land was bounded by George Harman, Delight James & others. It was the land of Jonathan Laws, the father of John Laws & Mary Core. The deed was recorded on 27 Apr 1791.1,6 |

The land was bounded by George Harman, John Laws and others. (NOTE: There was no mention of how they came by this land, but it is assumed that it was the land of Jonathan Laws, the father of John Laws & Mary Core.) The deed was recorded on 26 June 1792.7 |

Birth* | circa 1780 | Andrew Hamilton (mason) was born circa 1780 at Northampton Co, VA.2 |
Anecdote* | 1785 | At one point it seemed the only choice for a father for this Andrew Hamilton (c1780-a1840) was William Hamilton (c1762-b1799), son of Andrew Hamilton who died in 1780. However, when William died in 1799 his estate was so small it was given to the Sheriff to settle and there was no mention of a child or widow. There is also no record of a marriage for William. Although he was on the personal tax list from 1783 to 1797, he had nothing to be taxed and never had a white male over age 16 with him. If Andrew was his son & born c. 1780, he would have been age 16 in 1796 and would have showed on William's tax list in 1797. |
